As the driving force behind Soliana, Sonia embodies elegance, sophistication, and a deep commitment to creating spaces that are luxurious and practical. With a heritage deeply rooted in craftsmanship and a passion for cultivating environments where people can truly thrive, it was only natural for Sonia to return to the workforce and create not only a new business, but a family legacy. We sat down with Sonia to learn more about what drives her and why Soliana.

Q: What motivated you to start Soliana?

Sonia: Entering this new chapter of my life after years as a stay-at-home mum was daunting, but my motivation stems from a deep sense of purpose, which I like to call a ‘golden circle’. This is when I pursue my ambitions to create spaces for others to thrive, and in doing so, I am dedicating a portion of the proceeds to support the Soliana Foundation’s mission of helping those less fortunate.

I aspire to establish Soliana and the Soliana Foundation as a legacy for my family, a venture I can entrust to my children. In addition to this, I perceive a niche in the market where I can offer both opulence and functionality. With my experience as a mother and homemaker, I have genuine insight into leading an effective lifestyle and the requirements a home needs to support this.

Q: What does Soliana mean and how did you come up with the name?

Sonia: Choosing the name Soliana was no coincidence. Meaning ‘the light of god’, it reflects my own journey of spiritual growth and my commitment to creating positive change. With a focus on consistency, elegance, and timeless luxury, Soliana aims to stand out, by providing apartment homes filled with value that speaks to those searching for something extraordinary.

For me, life is about radiating positivity and serving others, as it epitomises the truest expression of one’s soul. Whether it’s as simple as sharing a smile with a stranger or extending a hand to those less fortunate, these acts hold great significance for me and are another contributing factor in starting Soliana. The business is infused with purpose and generosity and a portion of proceeds will be dedicated to The Soliana Foundation which supports charitable initiatives close to my heart.

Q: Tell us more about you, both the mother and business version.

Sonia: Prioritising my health and well-being is essential to juggling all my responsibilities effectively. By being the best version of myself and feeling energised, I can offer the best support to those around me. I think of it like an aeroplane’s safety instructions – put the oxygen mask on yourself before assisting others. So, in order to operate at my best, I wake up at 5.00 am every morning to train in the gym, enjoy a morning walk and savour my coffee before tending to family, household tasks, work and other commitments. I am a stickler for routine and consistency – I even eat the same meals every day – this discipline helps with my productivity and energy.

Q: What can we expect when buying a Soliana apartment?

Sonia: A stylish place. Somewhere that is boutique so that neighbours can foster connections and feel a sense of security and community within their residence. Somewhere warm and liveable.
I believe your home is your sanctuary so my vision and desire is for all Soliana apartment homes to be a place for people to recharge, relax and entertain.

Q: What else is in store?

Sonia: We are currently in the construction phase of our inaugural project, Pearl Brighton. I eagerly anticipate the commencement of sales for this development in the next few months. Additionally, we are preparing to begin construction on our Soliana headquarters, which will also include luxurious residences above. We are also in the process of developing some exciting penthouses in Bayside and exploring potential new acquisitions, ensuring a dynamic start to our journey. Stay tuned.
